Natalie D. (Swift) Neiger
Born November 13, 1930
Natalie D. (Swift) Neiger, age 86, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2016. Though our hearts are filled with sorrow, we rejoice that our beloved mother is now in the presence of her Redeemer.
Born in Wilmington, DE on November 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Mary Etta (Proud) Swift III. A talented homemaker, she devoted her life to caring for her family and served as a foster parent to infants with the Children’s Bureau of Wilmington. She later worked as a private duty companion for a number of senior citizens.
Active in her community, Natalie served as a teacher of numerous bible study groups in her home and sang with the Delaware Orotorio Society during the Christmas season. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, Natalie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John H. Neiger, Jr.; and 2 brothers. She is survived by her 5 children, Deborah Dickerson (Frantz), Lynn Roberts (William), Paul Neiger (Nadine), Jill Blazer (William) and Kimberly Gossett; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great granddaughter.
A committal service will be held at 2 pm on Friday afternoon, December 2, 2016 in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE. Please join us as we remember Mom’s love, commitment and dedication to family, friends and community of faith.
